March ’15 Newsletter

Dear Parents /Guardians:

Good luck and Best Wishes to Miss Gibbon’s classes for tomorrow Wednesday, when they attend the Bord Gáis Theatre Awards. These pupils should be at the school at 6.40a.m. for departure at 6.45a.m. sharp.

Best wishes and best of luck also to our Table Tennis Teams who are taking part in the Connaught Finals in Castlebar on Thursday 5th March ’15.

Thursday is World Book Day. Each pupil has received a voucher towards the purchase of a book.

First Confession will be held in Balla church on the 12th March ’15 at 7.30p.m.

First Holy Communion is on the 16th May at 12 noon.

The school will be closed on the 17th March ’15 for St. Patrick’s Day.

We will be participating in the Balla Patrick’s Day Parade. We will all meet in the Church car park after 11am Mass.

The Parents Association are holding a Flag Day on the 28th March ’15. The funds raised will be used to pay for the music teacher.

February ’15 newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Well done to our Spike ball and Handball teams who competed in county competitions last week. Emma and Joseph Leneghan competed in the Under 11, Cumann na mBunScoil Handball competition and we congratulate Emma on being a 2nd place medal winner.

The school will be closed on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th February ’15 for the Mid Term Break.

Congratulations to Miss Gibbons and her classes, who have been shortlisted for an award in the Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards. The award is for ‘Best Set’ and we are one of three schools in the country to be nominated. The prestigious ‘Oscars’ style award ceremony will take place in Dublin on the 4th March ’15. More details later.

Thanks to all whom both collected and returned our stage to Scoil Raifteirí.

Well done to our Quiz Teams who participated in the Credit Union Monster Quiz.

We will host a cake sale in aid of CrumlinHospital tomorrow –Tuesday 17th Feb. The senior classes 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th will do the baking. Please send in some money with your child so they can purchase and sample the delicious fare.

The Parents Association wishes to thank all those who attended their meeting. The Parents Association will be holding a Flag Day on 28th March and a Card Game on the 5th April ’15 to raise funds to pay for the music teacher. More details near the dates.
